Reactive Stain Tip: To get better performance out of your clear coats, neutralize the reactive acid stain. Here's how: After you have applied reactive acid stain, allow time for a full reaction (min. 4 hours). The surface must then be scrubbed and cleaned with water and *baking soda OR **ammonia. Then rinse well with water. Be sure to protect adjacent areas from run-off. Remove all residues and allow to dry before sealing.
*1 lb. baking soda to 5 gallons water.
** 1.5 oz. of ammonia to 1 gallon water
